Well whaddya know, they have the internet in Brisbane as well.
After an early start (6am) we spent a good hour kicking a ball around the concourse in terminal three of the domestic airport. Gone are the days of leisurely admiring the Qantases (Qantii?), though I'm working hard to instill Ella with the same appreciation.
And here's a lovely 747, not the plane we travelled on, but isn't he gorgeous?
Ella spent most of the journey to Brisbane standing on my lap. At least, that was until the cabin crew started speaking her language and brought the food trolley, at which point she shouted "Oh! Morning tea!" and sat down like an angel. Thank God she's about to turn two and we'll be forced to buy her a seat next time.
Anyway, we had the most amazing view of the city as we took off, flying almost right over the top of the opera house on a beautiful clear morning. This is truly the most beautiful city I've ever seen and when you see it from the air, with the little coves on the harbour and enormous stretches of beach through the north and south heads, you appreciate it all the more
We arrived into Brisbane over the top of the high rise Gold Coast and swooping down across Moreton Bay. They'd forecast rain but as usual they'd got it wrong. 26 degrees and sunny.
