A Visit from Santa

The bagpipes played on and off throughout our Christmas dinner, which left me lamenting the fact I'd left my earplugs upstairs. Ella, however, was mesmerised by them.

And then the carol singers turned up, a kind of female barbers shop ensemble who were taking requests from table to table. Ella got up to give them a little jig but the pressure of the lyrics from "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" proved too much and the line "He knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake" left her throwing a tantrum on the floor.

Then santa pitched up; the youngest-looking santa we've ever seen. You know you're getting old when the santas start to look young.
