We've just booked our first "walkabout". We are both absolutely shattered but as our stay here is limited, we want to taste as much of this glorious, glorious land as time allows.
We are heading off down the NSW coast this weekend towards Batemans Bay, via the blowhole at Kiama and the town of Berry. The Great Dividing Range of mountains falls into the sea here and there are wild kangaroos along the beaches. We'll be returning next week via Kangaroo Valley. It wouldn't be my first choice of trip with a toddler, but we'll weather it. We're tough outback cookies - we have cockroaches in the dishwasher.
(Of course, the real reason we're going is to park the 4WD next to one of those yellow signs that says "Kangaroos Next 4km" and have our picture taken, so I hope not to disappoint you).

The more we read, the more we wish you had taken us with you to care for Ella for the first few weeks. Australia looks and sounds amazing....maybe one day!
Ah how we needed you!
