Postcards

A glorious winter day here in Sydney and we finally got round to coming down to Mrs Macquarie's chair, the best view in Sydney. The Macquaries came to Sydney in 1810, Mr Macquarie being the governor. He planned lots of the roads around this area of town and his wife Elizabeth was particularly fond of the view from here, even in the days before they built either of the famous landmarks (bridge 1932, Opera House 1973). He eventually had a seat carved out of the rock for her to pass her time. Now that's what I call a lady of leisure.

Anyway, we're not sending postcards so here's a blog version. Lovely weather, great food. Wish you were here xx
