It's winter. It's twenty-four degrees and the sky is slowly turning electric blue. The guy at the Rainforest Habitat was right, we really did screw up when we sent the convicts down here and kept Britain for ourselves.
Today we did the coastal walk along the clifftops from North Bondi down to Coogee (and walked home from there), pausing for lunch at Bronte.
The rocks at the beginning of the walk are pretty spectacular but look at the thin layer of vegetation on top. There's not much soil in Sydney, it's all sandstone rock and sand on top. Now you see why the early settlers had diffculty growing anything.
