Collected Kath and Annette from the airport last night, and for once managed to look marginally less puffy than my childless friends - I'll make the most of it while it lasts.
"Can't you sort the weather out?" said Annette as she dragged her case across to the car park. It was drizzly and cold.
"Sorry" I said. "Welcome to Manchester".
So we drove back to our flat, where they sat looking dazed and battered. They didn't last long - I drove them to their hotel - via a detour down MacQuarie Street. And then I parked up between the opera house and the bridge and Annette went leaping around the concourse shouting "it's huge!!".
"I'm in Sydney!". We both let out a scream.
The weather forecast's bad all week. Tomorrow we're going shopping for a poncho.
