Here's a few shots from Bateau Bay. Gorgeous beach, lovely clear shallow water and great rock pools for Ella to explore. You can see the cabins dotted along the shore. The ocean was so noisy we considered asking the management to turn it down.
Funny things those rocks. I'm not sure what might have caused these patterns on the surface. Walking on them is like walking on a crocodile's back. They look volcanic in parts, but they're also covered in deep striations. To my knowledge, this place was never glaciated and I didn't think it was volcanic either. It can't be freeze/thaw weathering. Any offers? I'm a bit puzzled.
Anyway, it's a nice place. Chuck another shrimp on the barbie, mate.
